This week marks World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) 2025—a critical moment to reflect on one of the most pressing global health challenges of our time: antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
AMR is more than a medical issue. It affects humans, animals, food systems, and the environment. It is a One Health challenge, demanding action across every layer of society—from agriculture and pharmacy to healthcare and innovation.
At DRUiD, we’re focused on meeting this challenge at the source: with real-time, point-of-care diagnostics that support smarter, faster, and more targeted prescribing.
Our work aims to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use and empower frontline decision-makers—from GPs to farmers—with the tools they need to make informed treatment choices.
We’re starting with urinary tract infections (UTIs)—one of the leading causes of empirical antibiotic prescriptions in primary care. Our goal: help shift from “prescribe and hope” to “prescribe right, first time.”
The stakes are high.Every unnecessary antibiotic increases the risk of resistance.Every delay in action makes future infections harder—and more expensive—to treat.
We believe diagnostics are a key part of the solution. And we believe the time to act is now.
Let’s work together to slow resistance, protect future treatments, and build a more sustainable approach to health—human, animal, and environmental.
