UTI Prototype Designed and Lab Testing Underway – May 2025

In May 2025, DRUiD completed the design of its first functional prototype and initiated lab-based testing with the support of iDE8, UHI and our KTP assocaite to assess its technical viability.

This stage represents the first productisation of our UTI diagnostic, moving from theory to a usable tool.

Early lab testing by the KTP associate focused on sensitivity, specificity, and user workflow—all critical metrics for a frontline diagnostic assay for detecting over 99% of UTI's within lab conditions.

Initial data looks promising, confirming alignment with expected results and offering clear guidance for design iteration.

By validating the assay and seperatly our functional prototype under controlled lab conditions, we’re preparing for broader usability testing and lab trials using Urine later this summer.
